Hooray for the independent businesses of the world! And of Ashland! Thanks to BJ's Discount Books, people can actually find The Jinx in a brick and mortar building! This is a huge breakthrough for me! Why? Because even though Wild Rose Press had the great wisdom to publish my books, they are primarily an electronic publisher. The hold-it-in-your-hands books are a small part of their overall business.
You may not know this, but when you walk in any chain bookstore, the books you see have bought space to be there. Megabuck space-like that one little spot in the front of the Zillion-book bookstore could cost as much as a house for that little space with the cardboard display. Whew!!
So, what's a gal to do when her awesome publisher doesn't have the Megabuck space? Well, she tries for a more reasonable space. And I've found it at BJ's. The owner is a sweetheart. She wants to sell books, and I have some books for her to sell! We are planning a book signing June 12th, and we're already talking about the world premiere release party for The Clergy Affair on its release date July 31.
